Born from the heritage of Bakcou’s flagship Mule, the Mule Jäger SD takes everything riders love about the original workhorse and elevates it with a precision German‑engineered Rohloff internal gear hub. This sealed 14‑speed hub provides a huge 526% gear range and lets you shift through all 14 gears without pedaling, so you can drop into a lower gear even while standing still on a steep hillside. Because the gears are enclosed, there’s no derailleur to catch on brush or break in rugged terrain. Paired with Bafang’s ultra‑powerful M620 mid‑drive motor (750/1000 W)—often called the “diesel engine” of ebike motors—the Jager churns out up to 160 Nm of torque and 1 500 W peak power, giving you seamless, maintenance‑free shifting and hill‑climbing muscle for heavy loads.

A 52 V 20 Ah battery powers the system, and our modular rack lets you add an extra 15 Ah or 20 Ah battery to double the capacity, up to 40 Ah total, eliminating range anxiety on long hunts and multi‑day expeditions. Built around the Mule’s aircraft‑grade 6061‑aluminum frame with a patented rear rack, the Mule Jäger SD balances strength and agility. Its inverted 120 mm air‑fork suspension and shock‑absorbing seat post smooth out rocky trails and washboarded dirt roads, while 24‑inch or 26‑inch fat tires provide unrivaled traction on mud, sand and snow. Four‑piston hydraulic disc brakes deliver confident stopping power, and wide, skid‑proof pedals offer secure footing even with heavy boots. An integrated stem display with Bakcou’s On‑Demand Program lets riders choose between Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 modes, and Bakcou Connect technology (free for the first year for Mule models) provides remote security, tracking and diagnostics via smartphones. Built around a 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum frame, this step-through design makes mounting and dismounting easier without sacrificing strength. Drivetrain

The Mule Jäger SD is equipped with the Rohloff E-14 electronic shifting system, one of the most advanced and durable drivetrains available on an electric bike. This fully enclosed 14-speed hub eliminates exposed components like derailleurs, reducing the risk of damage from rocks, mud, or brush. The Rohloff internal gear hub brings several key advantages to our Jäger‑series ebikes. First, it offers a 14‑speed drivetrain with a massive 526% gear range, giving you plenty of low gears for steep climbs and high gears for faster stretches. Because all the gears are sealed inside the hub, there’s no exposed derailleur or cassette to catch on brush or accumulate mud, which dramatically reduces maintenance and improves reliability. The hub also lets you shift through multiple gears at once, even while you’re standing still, so you can drop into the right gear before tackling a steep hill or picking up speed after a stop. In short, the Rohloff hub delivers smooth, precise shifting, lowers the risk of drivetrain damage on rugged trails and helps you maintain momentum under load. The Jäger is designed for heavy loads. Its cargo‑oriented geometry, reinforced frame and wide fat tires allow riders to carry gear and tow game carts into remote backcountry. It’s ideal for steep mountain trails, muddy back roads, snow, and sand. Like our other Super Duty models, we rate it to carry approximately 350 lbs of rider and gear.

While not possible to give a precise single‑charge range for any bike because your mileage will depend on factors like terrain, elevation, rider weight, wind, temperature and the level of assist or throttle you use, we can offer a ballpark estimate: with a single battery most riders see around 40–60 miles of real‑world range, and with a dual‑battery setup you can extend that to over 100 miles. Think of these numbers as general guidance rather than guarantees because actual range will always vary based on how and where you ride.

For all of our ebikes, we stand behind your purchase with a one‑year limited manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty starts the day you receive your bike and covers major components like the battery, frame, motor, controller, wiring harness and LCD display. To activate your coverage, be sure to register your bike within 30 days of delivery; the warranty is valid only for the original owner and can’t be transferred. It protects you against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship but doesn’t cover normal wear, misuse or modifications.
