When your adventures follow sprawling valley floors, open prairies or winding forest roads rather than steep ridgelines, the Flatlander SD is built to go the distance. At its heart is the new RMG062A dual‑speed internal hub motor — a 750 W Bafang rear hub that delivers 85 Nm of torque and uses torque‑sensing technology for smooth, responsive power. Because the gearing is enclosed inside the hub, there’s no derailleur to hang up or break; you get a single‑speed chain ring paired with internal two‑speed gearing (40‑tooth front, 22‑tooth rear), meaning pure, silent thrust whenever you need it. This motor is fed by a 52 V 20 Ah integrated lithium‑ion battery, and serious distance riders can bolt on an additional 20 Ah battery via the modular quick‑release rack for up to 40 Ah of total capacity—perfect for day‑long scouting trips or touring remote ranchland without range anxiety.

Bakcou’s engineers paired that powertrain with a rugged Air‑Craft 6061 aluminum alloy frame, a helical‑spring 100 mm front fork and a shock‑absorbing suspension seat post to soak up washboard roads and rocky two‑tracks. Wide 4‑inch CST tires mounted on 24‑inch or 26‑inch wheels provide stability and traction on sand, mud or gravel, while the quad‑piston hydraulic brakes with 203 mm rotors offer confident stopping power. A removable left‑thumb throttle allows you to ease through tight sections. Slip‑resistant wide‑stance pedals, a rear pannier rack, chain‑stay protector and puncture‑proof liners mean the Flatlander SD is ready for serious back‑country work. The integrated stem‑mount display with Bakcou’s On‑Demand Program (ODP) lets you customize your speed class and monitor vital stats. Optional Bakcou Connect brings smartphone‑enabled GPS tracking, battery‑health monitoring and remote locking, so you know the location and condition of your bike at all times. DESIGN

Its 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum step-through frame makes mounting and dismounting easy while maintaining strength and durability. The Flatlander SD features a single-speed drivetrain paired with dual internal motor gearing, creating a simple and low-maintenance system built for efficiency. With a 40T front chainring and 22T rear cog, this setup eliminates complex shifting while still providing the power and range needed for a variety of riding conditions.

The Flatlander SD is equipped with a helical spring front fork designed to absorb bumps and smooth out rough surfaces. With 130mm of travel on the 26” model and 100mm on the 24” model, it delivers a comfortable ride across pavement, gravel, and light trail conditions.

BRAKING SYSTEM

The Flatlander SD uses an internal dual‑speed Bafang hub motor (model RMG062A) rated at 750 W nominal and 85 Nm of torque. Unlike mid‑drive bikes with external derailleurs, this hub motor houses two internal gears, so you don’t have to shift manually and there’s no derailleur to break. A built‑in torque sensor provides smooth, responsive pedal assist.

While not possible to give a precise single‑charge range for any bike because your mileage will depend on factors like terrain, elevation, rider weight, wind, temperature and the level of assist or throttle you use, we can offer a ballpark estimate: with a single battery most riders see around 40–60 miles of real‑world range, and with a dual‑battery setup you can extend that to over 100 miles. Think of these numbers as general guidance rather than guarantees because actual range will always vary based on how and where you ride.

The Flatlander SD is optimized for flatlands and rolling hills, hence the name. Its dual‑speed hub motor provides plenty of torque for moderate inclines, but it isn’t meant for the extreme climbs that our mid-drive bikes can tackle.

Bakcou Connect is optional on the Flatlander SD. For an additional fee, you can add this connectivity package, which lets you track your bike’s location, lock it remotely and monitor battery health via smartphone. The first year of service is free; a subscription fee applies afterward. This feature must be added at checkout.

The included 52 V/4 A smart charger will recharge the 20 Ah battery in about 4–5 hours from empty. Charging times may be slightly longer if you add a second battery.

For all of our ebikes, we stand behind your purchase with a one‑year limited manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty starts the day you receive your bike and covers major components like the battery, frame, motor, controller, wiring harness and LCD display. To activate your coverage, be sure to register your bike within 30 days of delivery; the warranty is valid only for the original owner and can’t be transferred. It protects you against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship but doesn’t cover normal wear, misuse or modifications.
