Traditional bikes with gear cassettes and derailleurs require regular maintenance, especially after riding through rough terrain.  The Rohloff SPEEDHUB is protected in a water tight casing, eliminating any worry about rocks, sticks, or anything else banging into and damaging your gears.  Plus, this internal gear system requires just one quick oil change per year or after 3000 miles.
