eBikes have so many incredible benefits for their riders. eBikes have proven beneficial for your health, both mentally and physically. Even with a motor, eBikes still require the rider to put in the effort to get around. On Bakcou eBikes, riders can adjust the level of pedal-assist so that they can put in as much or as little effort as they please. If you’re looking to work harder, you can turn the assist down and push hard for every mile. Tired or need some more help getting up the hills? Our eBikes also give you the option to bump up the assist and take it easy for a bit. Regardless of how much pedal assist you receive from the motor, the speed and distance accomplished on an eBike are higher when compared to riding a traditional bike. Our Bakcou Tribe members tend to use their eBikes longer and reach for their eBikes more often because of the ability to adapt each ride to their needs.
What Is Pedal-Assist?
So, what is pedal-assist? Pedal-assist is a mode on your eBike that provides power from the motor to help you pedal easier and move faster. On our Bakcou eBikes, riders have the option to change the level of pedal-assist that they get on each ride. Based on the level of assist that you choose, the motor provides a certain level of power output as you pedal. Pedal-assist is there to give you a little extra ‘oomph’ when you’re riding and, when activated, you’ll notice that it seems a little easier to pedal. Pedal-assist helps make it easier to ride long distances without working as hard, especially if you’re climbing hills or technical terrain.
Pedal Assist vs. Throttle
Now that we know what pedal-assist is, what’s the difference between pedal-assist and throttle mode? The main difference between the two is that pedal-assist, like its name implies, requires riders to pedal while receiving power from the motor. Throttle mode is similar to a motorcycle or electric scooter and does not require pedaling; it solely propels the bike forward using the motor. It’s important to note that utilizing pedal-assist over throttle mode will better conserve your battery life and allow you to ride farther.
Why is Pedal-Assist Beneficial?
Pedal-assist allows eBike riders to ride farther, faster, and conquer more hills. More than that, however, pedal-assist helps riders overcome physical limitations that may otherwise make riding a bike too hard. With the capability to adjust the level of pedal-assist depending on the terrain, their fitness level, or their goals for the ride, Bakcou eBike users are riding for longer distances and reaching for their bikes more often. eBike users spend more time exercising and being active, adapting each ride to their individual needs.
Whether looking for an intense workout or want to get out and enjoy the sights, our Bakcou eBikes can adapt to meet your needs. With five levels of pedal-assist to choose from, Bakcou riders can choose to work for every mile or take it easy and enjoy their ride. Whatever level of pedal-assist you choose, we hope you join us to get out and enjoy the great outdoors as you’ve never done before!
